LGBT History Month: What We’ve Learned from Sage

February is LGBT History Month. It’s a time to celebrate progress that’s been made, honour the people who have done hard work toward LGBT rights so far, and look at what steps still need taking to move toward a truly equal and inclusive society.

Sage is Time to Shine’s project which specifically works with older people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. There is a great deal of evidence that this group is at a higher risk of social isolation as they get older—they may experience ageism in LGBT spaces and may experience homo-, bi-, or transphobia in spaces for older people.

Age UK is highlighting Sage and what we’ve learned with an article on their national website. Please have a read and share around in your networks.

And happy LGBT History month!
