Introducing… Making a Match

Older people living in LS16 and LS17 will soon have new opportunities to connect with people they have something in common with, thanks to our new project Making a Match, delivered in partnership by MAECare and OPAL.

Voluntary organisations in Leeds offer a lot of great programming and social activities for people all over the city, but not everyone is going to fit into those existing services. Especially if someone has become socially isolated, they may find it difficult to go along to a group where they don’t know anyone, or that maybe isn’t in line with their interests.

Making a Match aims to overcome this problem by getting to know individuals carefully and finding out what their hobbies and passions are, and then match them with a like-minded person who shares the same interest.

The service will be tailored to people’s individual needs and will provide space for genuine friendships to grow and flourish.
