Volunteering with Time To Shine projects

Many projects in Time To Shine are looking for volunteers. If you would like to find out more have a look at timetoshineleeds.org.uk/get-involved/volunteers

Volunteers help with many different roles from befriending or social events, to sharing digital skills.

The people you meet may be in their own home, in a care home, or belong to a regular group. They might be interested in being active or getting back into activity, or in being outdoors. If you enjoy admin or project management and planning, there may be ways you can use these skills to help Time To Shine projects.

Every Time To Shine project is different. For example:

  • Befriending volunteers are needed by the Making a Match project for older people living in LS16 and LS17. Making a Match sets up connections with people they have something in common with.
  • Feel Good Factor is looking for people aged 18+ to volunteer for the Choices project that includes
-Walk with Me project, helping people with mobility problem travel independently
-Feel Good Evening and Weekend Social Groups
    -Cook and Eat Clubs
    -IT Classes

Feel Good Factor say “If you are interested in learning new skills or sharing yours, then volunteering with us is a great idea. You’ll meet new people and make a positive contribution to your community, you may also gain valuable work experience and you’ll certainly make some new friends”.

Volunteers are helping Time To Shine fight against loneliness and social isolation in Leeds, and have a great experience at the same time. Please share timetoshineleeds.org.uk/get-involved/volunteers so more people can find out about the opportunities available.
