National Alcohol Awareness Week starts on Monday, July 7. This year, the focus is on a key public health message for Leeds: Alcohol in Later Life.
In preparation for the Awareness Week, Forward Leeds would like to create some videos for use on social media. In previous years, this approach has been effective. There are a few examples below:
Josh Lees – Alcohol Awareness Week tip – Facebook Video
Hannah Taylor – Alcohol Awareness Week – Facebook Video
To create these short videos, Forward Leeds is seeking individuals in Leeds aged 50 and above who are willing to participate in this campaign to raise awareness of the additional issues that can arise with alcohol and later life.
The filming will take place in mid-June (week commencing either Monday, 16 June or Monday, 23 June, depending on availability), and Forward Leeds will provide guidance on what to say and help with the format. You will not be asked to do anything embarrassing or reveal anything about yourself. It would be focused on sharing the information on the webpage linked above.
Mark Hindwell at Forward Leeds is coordinating the campaign – to get involved, please send an email to: mark.hindwell@forwardleeds.co.uk
