Researchers from the University of Leeds are hosting an event in Leeds city centre to gather insights from people with experience of social care for older people, either directly or through a relative or friend.

The research aims to develop new knowledge to improve social care for older people. Social care is the support people receive with daily living (e.g. washing, dressing, social support) in either their own home or in supported accommodation (e.g. care homes). This might be paid for privately or provided by social services (or local authority or similar).

Here’s what to expect on 14 May

  • Find out about social care research happening in Leeds.
  • Hear from people who get involved in research.
  • Tell us what you think we should research. Your voice matters.
  • Meet researchers and others who might share similar experiences to you.
  • There will be time to speak to others throughout the day.
  • There will be regular breaks with tea, coffee, snacks, and lunch.
  • The meeting is at The Studio in the centre of Leeds (more information on how to get there is below).

Spaces are limited, if you sign up but then can’t make it, please let us know and we can offer the space to someone else.
