Active Travel England (ATE) is seeking responses to a new questionnaire to improve understanding of the critical safety issues affecting walking, wheeling and cycling. The survey will help improve how ATE considers and measures safety and strengthen the evidence for its assessment tools.
Active Travel England is the government’s executive agency enabling people nationwide to be more active by making streets and other public spaces safe and accessible for walking, wheeling and cycling. Critical Safety Issues are defined by Active Travel England as street layouts or conditions that are associated with an increased risk of collisions for people walking, wheeling, or cycling.
This questionnaire is conducted by Dr Yee Mun Lee and Professor Robin Lovelace from the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds (Ethics Reference: BESS+ FREC 4178), in collaboration with Mott MacDonald.
