Help shape the future of parks and green spaces in Leeds

Profile image for Jenni Scott

Communications and Relationships Manager

The University of Leeds is conducting research that explores how older adults use and experience local green spaces, such as parks, fields, and other outdoor spaces, and how these experiences may influence health and wellbeing. The study is particularly interested in understanding everyday experiences of green spaces, including how factors such as access, safety, seasonality, and local environments shape how people use them.

Surveys will first help us understand your experiences, and outdoor chats will capture them in a more natural and meaningful way by talking with you outdoors in a local green space that feels familiar to you.

What will taking part involve?

If you agree to take part, you will be invited to take part in a series of surveys over time:

  • Surveys will take place across a period of approximately 12 months
  • You will be invited to take part in up to 4 surveys during this time, at 3-month intervals
  • Each survey should take approximately 30 minutes
  • Surveys can be done at home or at pop-up events we will host
  • Surveys will address some sensitive topics, such as mood and loneliness

Following the surveys, you may be invited to take part in a series of outdoor chats.
