Dementia Action Week is an annual awareness raising campaign run by the Alzheimer’s Society to encourage people to act on dementia. This year, the focus is on dementia diagnosis and calling on the Government and the NHS to prioritise dementia in policy and decision making.
At Dementia Friendly Leeds – as well as hosting our own event (more details below) – we will be helping to promote the range of events and opportunities taking place across the city.
If you’re planning an event or hosting a regular Dementia Friendly cafe, activity or session during 19-25th May, please send details to elizabeth@opforum.org.uk so that we can add your event to our city-wide listing and promote it.
Dementia Friendly Leeds is hosting a creative showcase which falls just after Dementia Action Week this year. We feel this gives everyone an opportunity to host their own activities as well as attend ours. The event aims to help people learn more about Dementia Friendly Leeds, raise awareness, open up new opportunities, be inspired and connect.
