May 19 – 25 | Dementia Action Week

Profile image for Jenni Scott

Communications Officer

Dementia Action Week is an annual awareness raising campaign run by the Alzheimer’s Society to encourage people to act on dementia. This year, the focus is on dementia diagnosis and calling on the Government and the NHS to prioritise dementia in policy and decision making.

At Dementia Friendly Leeds – as well as hosting our own event (more details below) – we will be helping to promote the range of events and opportunities taking place across the city.

If you’re planning an event or hosting a regular Dementia Friendly cafe, activity or session during 19-25th May, please send details to elizabeth@opforum.org.uk so that we can add your event to our city-wide listing and promote it.

This year, Dementia Friendly Leeds will be hosting an event at Pudsey Civic Hall on Wednesday, 4 of June, from 11 am to 2.30 pm. This is after Dementia Action Week, but we feel this means that everyone will hopefully be able to attend as well as coordinate their own events!

The event will include our popular marketplace of stalls. As ever we want stalls and stands to represent the diverse and inspirational dementia friendly communities, organisations and businesses of Leeds to showcase what you offer.

As an Age and Dementia Friendly business you will be more likely to get a stall!

If you would like to register interest for a stall, please fill out the form below. Or, if you would like to get involved in other ways, perhaps by hosting a performance or talk at the event, or could help us with sponsorship, then please contact elizabeth@opforum.org.uk

Please hold the date in your diary. Flyers and more details will be following soon.
