Leeds City Council is launching a one-off grant funding round for third-sector organisations, grassroots groups, faith groups, and community organisations to support the delivery of the Stronger Leeds Strategy. This funding creates opportunities for new, innovative projects, as well as the continuation or expansion of existing programmes that deliver social cohesion activities across the city.
This grant programme aims to strengthen social cohesion across Leeds by supporting activities that contribute to the Stronger Leeds strategic priorities:
SAFE — Create Safe Spaces for Community Conversation
STRONG — Build Community Trust
UNDERSTANDING — Celebrate Our Differences and Build a Shared Feeling of Belonging
THRIVING — Promote Community Ownership & Shared Responses
Funding between £5,000 and £50,000 is available to support activities that clearly demonstrate how they contribute to at least one Stronger Leeds priority (Safe, Strong, Understanding, Thriving). Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Dialogue & Community Conversations
- Volunteering, Leadership & Community Ownership
- Events, Festivals & Shared Activities
- Tackling misinformation, hate and prejudice
- Strengthening Trust Between Communities & Services
- Reducing isolation and improving connectedness
They encourage applications from projects that help broaden participation, especially by actively engaging people who are underrepresented or are less likely to take part in community discussions or local activities.
